Privacy overview

KiuSpark supports teaching, assessment and student practice. This page explains the data used by the app. The services and data handling for your school depend on how its deployment is configured.

Data used for teaching and learning

The app uses account and profile information, roles, school and class membership, teaching materials, questions, assignments, student answers, grades, teacher reviews and feedback. It also records learning progress, mastery estimates and review tasks to support practice and classroom reporting. AI-generated content and scores need teacher review.

Activity records support dashboards and operational monitoring. If you enable browser notifications, the app stores a push subscription and your notification preferences. Export and deletion actions also create request records.

Cookies and local browser storage

Authentication cookies maintain your signed-in session. Browser storage remembers consent preferences and supports cached learning information and pending work where those features are used. On a shared device, sign out when finished and consider clearing site data before another person uses it. Clearing site data can remove local preferences and unsent work; it does not delete server records.

The cookie banner records optional analytics and marketing preferences, where those technologies are enabled. Optional consent starts off. These preferences do not stop the educational records and activity processing used by the signed-in app. If browser storage is blocked, the app may be unable to remember your choice for another visit.

Hosting and AI services

KiuSpark uses Supabase for authentication and database services. Depending on deployment settings, teaching content, uploaded images or student responses may be sent to external AI providers for text extraction, question generation, embeddings, grading or feedback. Deployments can also use separately hosted or local model services.

The active providers, processing locations and retention arrangements need to be confirmed with the operator of your deployment. This overview does not promise a retention period, complete erasure from third-party systems, or legal compliance certification.

Shared demo accounts

Demo accounts use shared sample records. Other demo visitors may see or change those records. Do not enter real learner information, private school materials or other sensitive data in the demo. Demo actions may use the configured AI services.

Your data controls

The following account tools require sign-in and an assigned account role. Page access can vary by role; if unavailable, ask your school or deployment administrator for help with your data request.

A confirmed deletion request starts deletion immediately, including an attempt to remove your account. Deleted data cannot be recovered through the app. A failure can leave some records already removed and others remaining; administrator assistance may be needed to resolve an incomplete request.
